5BMF in Schools
For nearly two decades, Five Boroughs Music Festival has connected New Yorkers with world-class chamber music in neighborhoods across the city. In recent years, we have expanded that mission beyond the concert hall, investing in educational partnerships that bring professional musicians directly into New York City public schools.
Working primarily with Title I schools, our outreach programs introduce students to live chamber music through engaging, interactive performances led by exceptional artists. These visits are designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and provide meaningful opportunities for young people to experience music performed at the highest artistic level – often for the very first time.
Our educational initiatives have grown through partnerships with organizations including 92Y, Belongó, and Concert Artists Guild, allowing us to reach more students and deepen our impact across the five boroughs. As our outreach continues to expand, we remain committed to inspiring the next generation of listeners, performers, and arts supporters.
